Pastor Jon had the wonderful privilege of being raised in a pastor’s household. His dad, David Loggans is still pastoring in Shelby Twp., MI. Both of Jon’s grandpa’s served the Lord, and one was a pastor for over 50 years. On October 23, 1983, Jon realized that he was a sinner in need of a Savior, and he put his faith and trust in Christ alone to save him. He was baptized August 5, 1985 at Trinity Baptist Church in Imlay City, MI. He answered God’s call on his life on June 22nd, 1989 at Joy Baptist Camp in Vassar, MI. Jon graduated from Maranatha Baptist University in 1999 and 2003 with his bachelors in Bible and his Masters in Biblical Counseling. He has worked with young people and their families for over 25 years in Michigan, Florida, and Wisconsin, He has a huge love for youth of all ages and feels a tremendous burden not only to reach this next generation for Christ, but to  see them make an impact for Christ! Jon has been wonderfully married to the love of his life Melissa for 25 years! Truly we are a match made in Heaven. God is the One that brought us together and I couldn’t think of doing ministry without her! She is my biggest encourager and the best soulmate a husband could ever hope to have. We love being together as a family and enjoy everything from the sunny beaches to the woods. The Lord has richly blessed us with 10 fantastic children ( Hunter, Maddie, Gunner, Mia, Tag, Piper, Sadie, Hollis, Reece, and Tanner). Jon and Melissa added a son in law, Worth, in 2023, and granddaughter Kayce in 2024. My family is an intricate part of the ministry and I’m so very blessed that they cheerfully and willingly want to serve alongside me! God is always Only Good.

Houston grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and received his music degree from Louisiana Tech University.  He retired in June 2022 after a 36 year career as a high school band director.  Houston and his wife, Lucinda, have three daughters; Manda, Catherine, and Brittney.  They also have eight grandchildren.  Houston is also an active deacon at FBC Edna.
